Guests loved the stunning grounds and romantic English country setting with opportunities for lovely walks around the lake. Although some guests noted that the corridors could use a bit of redecoration, the location and facilities received praise for being lovely, pleasant and out of the way. The staff were found to be very attentive and guests had a very nice experience overall. Breakfast
The breakfast at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa has received mixed reviews from guests. Some have described it as superb, amazing, delicious and great, while others found it to be poor, terrible and overpriced. The quality of the food, including breakfast, was generally described as excellent with some praising the fish dishes in particular. However, some guests felt that the breakfast could have been better with one guest stating that it felt more like a 4-star than a 5-star experience. There were also mixed experiences in terms of service with some guests reporting that their requests were not fulfilled. Visitors who had dinner at the hotel had better experiences with some describing it as fantastic and a complete home run. The main issue with breakfast was the limited choice with some guests wishing for more options without meat. Despite some negative feedback, there were also several positive reviews of the breakfast with guests describing it as lovely, delicious and a full works experience.

Dinner
Guest reviews of the Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa vary when it comes to the quality of dinner. While some describe it as "delicious" or "fantastic," others found the food to be mediocre, overcooked and poorly garnished. Some also complained about small portions and high prices. Guests recommend the Brasserie menu and Reflections restaurant, while the fine dining restaurant only offers a tasting menu. Cocktails are pricey but worth it and service can be slow. Vegetarian options and the main dinner menu were limited and some found the service rushed and awkward. Overall, dinner at the hotel is hit-or-miss, so guests are advised to manage their expectations and be prepared to communicate any concerns.

Rooms
The Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa offers guests an exceptional experience with excellent, spacious and well-presented bedrooms, comfortable and clean rooms, some of which even have their own garden or outside space. While some guests found the basic rooms to lack character or be small, others found the decor to be lovely and the bathrooms spacious, especially in the junior suite with a balcony. However, some rooms were colder than others, some looked out onto a wall or had terrible decor and noise-proofing and a few were very dated, lacking amenities and needing updating. Despite these few complaints, the spa and rooms were generally very good with plenty of space for storage and facilities such as a full-sized sofa, a huge bathroom and air conditioning. Guests loved the location of the hotel in the romantic English countryside and appreciated the lovely decor, luxury amenities and fantastic standard of service.

Beds
The Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa boasts an impressive range of room options with a variety of beds to choose from. Some guests have described the beds as the best they've ever slept in, providing them with a completely luxurious experience. However, not all beds at the hotel made for a comfortable night's sleep with some being far too soft and uncomfortable or needing replacing. Additionally, some guests have reported issues with allergies to the Egyptian cotton bed sheets. Despite these minor issues, guests have also noted that the rooms were clean and comfortable and the Goodwood suite in particular was very cozy with a comfortable bed. It's clear that the hotel strives to offer a wide range of bed options to provide guests with the most comfortable night's sleep possible.

Cleanliness
Guests consistently praised the cleanliness of Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa, describing the hotel as spotless and immaculately kept. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with ample storage space. However, some guests did experience issues with housekeeping, such as a coffee machine left unserviced or found items from previous guests. Some guests also noted minor marks or blemishes, such as cushions pilling or carpets with stains. Despite these minor issues, the overall consensus was that the hotel and spa were very good and clean. The staff was praised for being helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. However, some guests did describe issues with the cleanliness of the spa with used glasses and plates left all around and even used plasters left in the pools and tubs. Overall, the cleanliness and staff of the hotel were highly praised by guests.

Staff
The staff at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. From the moment of arrival, guests are greeted by a professional, polite and enthusiastic team who work hard to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. The experience is further enhanced by extremely helpful, accommodating and responsive staff who are always on hand to assist with any requests. Guests describe the staff as lovely, friendly, warm and welcoming, providing exceptional customer service. However, some guests note that staff training could be improved in certain areas with a few occasions where staff were slow or inattentive in service. Overall though, guests agree that the staff and service at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa are excellent, creating a wonderful experience for guests in a beautiful location.

Spa
The Alexander House Hotel boasts an exceptional spa that received mixed reviews from guests. Some raved about the amazing and stunning spa, describing it as the nicest, beautiful and clean with fantastic facilities. Others found the spa lacking in options and becoming dated, dirty and unloved, charging a separate fee or overcrowded with non-hotel guests, while the spa staff was sometimes unmanaged. Nonetheless, there were many who enjoyed their time there, deeming it the perfect place to relax and unwind, complete with lovely outside hot tubs, refreshing pools and relaxing treatments such as a spa garden or jacuzzi. Guests also appreciated an evening in the spa garden, though it could be crowded too. Some found that the spa needed more seating as it was often overbooked. The hotel's Reflections restaurant was also praised by guests for its lovely ambiance. All in all, the Alexander House Hotel's spa services were a relaxing treat that proved to be exactly what some guests needed.

Pool
Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa’s spa and pool facilities are a hit with guests who enjoy swimming, relaxing in steam rooms and saunas or soaking in the outdoor hot tub. Some reviewers wished for shared sauna facilities and more options on the room service menu. However, the main pool is good for a relaxing swim and guests appreciate the heated pool. Some reviewers have noted that the spa, especially the pool, can be a little busy at times, but all the pools are lovely and plenty of beds are available for relaxation. Unfortunately, there are complaints about a lack of seating around the pool as spa-day guests leave towels on chairs. Also, some guests find it gross that nobody showers before entering the swimming pool or hot tubs – a common British habit. Despite these minor issues, the outdoor jacuzzi gets rave reviews, but the seating around the pool could be more comfortable and sufficient. However, some guests had to cut their stay short due to the hotel lacking air conditioning.

Parking
Guests of Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa can enjoy a free room upgrade upon check-in, as well as a large car park that provides ample free parking. If you have an electric vehicle, there are three sockets on site for charging at a rate of 40p/kWh. However, some guests have noted that the charging bays are often full and that there are only three of them, which means that it might be difficult to charge an electric car. Some guests have also mentioned that the hotel is expensive for the level of service and dining and one reviewer said that it was "not an appropriate match for the exorbitant price." The newest block of rooms is located next to the car park, which is convenient for guests who have a lot of luggage or who don't want to walk far to their room. Overall, the parking situation at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa is mostly positive with the only downside being the limited number of electric charging sockets.

5 Star
Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa is a fantastic 5-star hotel with exceptional facilities and services. However, some guests were disappointed to find issues such as limited vegetarian menus and no air conditioning in a few rooms. The hotel features many different bar and dining areas to relax and unwind. The private rooms provide an exquisite experience and the staff offers service worthy of the 5 red stars. Although there were a few negative comments regarding the Renaissance restaurant and communication professionalism, most guests had no complaints at all. Some guests mentioned that the hotel lacked certain elements that should be a must in a 5-star hotel, such as toothpaste and proper towels. Despite this, the hotel is exceptional and perfect for a luxurious stay.

Luxury
Imagine indulging in a stay filled with luxury - the comfort of the surroundings, the exceptional service and a beautiful building to stay in. This is how guests at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa seem to feel. The experience is exclusive and expensive, but from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you'll be in pure luxury. While some guests have found the prices to be overpriced for what they are getting, others have praised the new garden suites and the spacious, luxurious rooms. The hotel has a lovely bar area, great staff and a beautiful location. However, some have noted issues with the limited vegetarian menu, overpriced food and a lack of toothpaste. Despite the flaws pointed out by some guests, the hotel is described as luxurious, exceptionally presentable and worthy of its 5 red stars. It might not be everyone's definition of a 5* hotel, but it's certainly exceptional with lovely spa treatments and an indulgent feel.
