Very Good
Location
This hotel's location is the cherry on top of a wonderful stay in St. Andrews. Everything you could want is within walking distance, as the hotel is right in the heart of the town's busy student/seaside area. The hotel is located nearby the town centre, the Old Course and the beach. It's also perfect for avid golfers as it's within walking distance of golf courses. Guests enjoyed being in the bustling centre of everything and appreciated how close restaurants and shops were. The hotel's location was described as excellent, perfect and handy. Visitors loved being in a central location and some even referred to the location as "the heart of St. Andrews." The location was most highly praised and deemed ideal, making this hotel an excellent choice.

Breakfast
The breakfast experience at Kinnettles Hotel & Spa is a mixed bag according to guest reviews. While some guests had a lovely breakfast with a nice selection of cereals, fruit and bread, others were disappointed with the standard of the breakfast, labeling it awful, poor, or not worth the money. It was a buffet-style breakfast and though the staff was brilliant and served some guests at their table, others complained about non-existent service or long waiting times. Gluten-free options were not available and the quality of food ranged from inedible to excellent, depending on the reviewer. The breakfast was also restricted to the same menu every morning and some guests were disappointed with the minimalistic selection. However, some guests labeled the breakfast as delicious and those who pre-ordered their breakfast found it fresh and very tasty. Lastly, some guests were refunded for breakfast or requested a refund.

Dinner
Kinnettles Hotel & Spa offers half board where guests can enjoy three courses for dinner, but unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday during our stay. As a result, we had to find alternative options for dinner and breakfast. Some guests who did visit the restaurant were disappointed with their meals, finding them barely edible with overcooked rice, tasteless and watery curry and a lack of chutney or poppadom. Some even went as far as to say that the restaurant felt more like a café and should be avoided. However, others had a great dining experience and thought the food was excellent with the burger being a standout dish. The dinner menu was described as small but exceptional with some guests disappointed that there were no fish dishes or salads available. Despite this, those who enjoyed their meals found them to be great value for money. The dining room area demands attention to have a more traditional restaurant appearance, which may be why some guests were disappointed with their experience.

Rooms
The rooms at Kinnettles Hotel & Spa have received exceptional reviews from guests. They describe the rooms as spacious, clean and luxurious with lovely decor and comfortable beds. The hotel offers a range of room sizes and facilities, including king beds, TVs, hair dryers and well-stocked mini bars. Some guests particularly enjoyed the spacious suites and sitting areas with luxurious chairs. The bathrooms were also praised for being spacious and excellent. However, some guests experienced slight cleanliness issues or an uncomfortable bed due to two smaller beds being joined together. Nevertheless, overall, the rooms are beautiful, modern and well-appointed, furnishing to a high standard with stylish decor. Guests liked the location of the hotel and the attentiveness of the staff with some stating they felt like they had their own apartment. The hotel also provides a fantastic spa with facilities that add to the overall experience.

Beds
The beds at Kinnettles Hotel & Spa received mixed feedback from guests. While some appreciated the big, comfortable beds and spacious rooms, others found the twin beds to be too small and uncomfortable. Some complained about lumpy or unmade beds, while others enjoyed an extremely comfortable stay. Unfortunately, some guests found that their bed was too soft or sloped down in the middle due to two singles being pushed together. However, those who were able to get a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed found the rooms to be well-appointed and spacious. If you have specific mattress preferences, it may be worth speaking to the hotel before booking.

Cleanliness
The Kinnettles Hotel & Spa has received mixed reviews regarding cleanliness. While some guests were pleased with the nice, clean rooms and spotless cleanliness, others reported issues such as dust, cobwebs and unclean bathrooms. The spa area could have been cleaner and some guests found the property to be unclean overall. Despite some complaints, the majority of guests acknowledged that the room was clean and comfortable, meeting the hotel's star rating expectations and praised the excellent housekeeping. However, some guests did note that the cleanliness could have been better and one guest even reported a stained wine glass. Overall, the hotel and spa were described as mostly clean with a few areas that could use improvement.

Staff
Kinnettles Hotel & Spa is a hotel with a mix of opinions when it comes to its staff. Many guests praised the team for being friendly, helpful and going above and beyond to ensure their stay was comfortable. Some guests also complimented specific staff members for their exceptional service. However, there were complaints of being short-staffed, lack of training and some guests felt that some staff members were uninterested in their stay. Despite mixed opinions, most guests were satisfied with the staff and left positive comments about their experience. The hotel's manager, Sean, was also mentioned in positive reviews for his helpfulness.

Spa
The Kinnettles Hotel & Spa boasts a spa, but unfortunately, there were certain maintenance issues pointed out by some guests, such as broken utensils, headrest, wooden panels and showers. Some also complained about unavailability of spa treatments. But despite these setbacks, guests still found the spa lovely, fab and gorgeous. A few noted that the spa was small but it was actually an advantage as it made the experience more private and relaxing. Exclusive access was also granted to some guests who had reserved a slot to use the facilities. However, others had a harder time with the spa due to the inconvenience of having to go out in the cold after using the facilities, the unavailability of spa staff to provide towels and the small basement area. Nonetheless, there were good reviews from those who enjoyed the lovely room and spa, great massage, superb spa facilities and fantastic spa treatments. Despite mixed reviews of the spa, the hotel remains to have a great location, spacious rooms with heated floors and powerful showers, attentive staff and a beautiful area to chill out in.

Golf
If you're looking for a hotel that's close to both town and golf, look no further than Kinnettles Hotel & Spa. This hotel is the perfect central location, making it easy to get around St. Andrews with ease. In fact, you can walk to the beach, the Old Course and even the shops! Plus, golf enthusiasts will love the proximity to the course with some guests even leaving for their rounds without breakfast. And if you're looking for stunning views, this hotel has you covered - with both the golf course and the city providing picturesque backdrops. Overall, if you're looking for a hotel that's ideal for golf and exploring St. Andrews, Kinnettles Hotel & Spa is the perfect choice.

5 Star
Kinnettles Hotel & Spa promises to be a luxurious five-star experience, however some guests were not quite convinced. Some were disappointed with the price and felt that the hotel did not quite meet their expectations of what a five-star hotel should be. Despite this, other guests praised the hotel and wrote exceptional and superb reviews with mentions of fantastic staff, great ambiance and an ideal location. Guests loved their stay and claimed it was a five-star hotel, however, a few mentioned concerns with the hotel's amenities such as fruit juice from concentrate. All in all, Kinnettles Hotel & Spa may not be everyone's idea of a five-star hotel but it still provides a great experience that many guests would return to.

Luxury
The Kinnettles Hotel & Spa, a beautiful boutique hotel in an ideal location, has been praised for its luxury by guests. The high-spec rooms and amazing facilities are perfect for those looking for a bit of luxury. Although some guests mentioned it was not quite 5-star, the hotel still exceeded expectations and was worth the splurge for a truly super and fabulous stay. The staff are attentive and the rooms are beautiful, making it a very classy and luxurious experience for guests who expect a little bit of luxury.
