Excellent

Location

The Mokara Hotel & Spa is located at the heart of the Riverwalk, making it the perfect choice for those who want to explore the bustling downtown area. Guests mentioned that the location was excellent and they loved being able to walk right into the Riverwalk from the hotel. Despite the crowds during the weekends, the convenience of the location more than made up for it. Some visitors even dropped off at nice restaurants right next door. The hotel's location was perfect for sightseeing, shopping and dining and The Alamo was just a few steps away. The only downside was that some rooms didn't offer great views, but this was hardly a deterrent for guests who appreciated the hotel's fantastic location on the Riverwalk.

Breakfast

If you're looking for a top-notch breakfast experience during your stay at Mokara Hotel & Spa, you won't be disappointed! Many guests highly recommend the American Breakfast or Ostra breakfast, both offering delicious options that will leave you feeling satisfied. Dining in the river adds to the experience and the service is top-notch. Waffles with hot syrup are a must-try and brunch the next morning comes highly recommended. While some guests found the breakfast to be pricey, the majority agree that it's worth it. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, breakfast was not always available, but when it was, it was excellent. Guests rave about the excellent amenities and facilities, as well as the beautiful design of the rooms. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are large and beautiful with plenty of shelf space, bathtubs and separate showers. The hotel also features high ceilings and large closets that add to the roominess of the space. Some rooms offer magnificent views, while others overlook brick walls, which is not ideal. Some guests noted that the rooms were a little dated and boring, but overall most were very clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, some guests experienced dirty carpets and dusty rooms, but these seem to be isolated incidents. The hotel is located in a fantastic location and some guests particularly praise the convenient rooms that include speakers and stand-up showers. There are some downsides to this hotel, such as the absence of laundry services, a microwave and a smart TV. Additionally, some guests felt that the hotel was overpriced for what it offered. Most rooms were large and very comfortable with good quality linens ensuring guests have just a comfortable sleep. Some describe the comfort level as like sleeping on a cloud. While the mattresses were a bit soft for some, others found nothing to complain about. However, one guest commented that the bed was very hard and the pillows were too soft. There were some negative comments about the size of the beds with some feeling that they were smaller than advertised, but overall guests were happy with the quality of the beds provided.

The hotel staff is always forthcoming, friendly and accommodating. The concierge is exceptional with recommendations and queries, while the valet personnel is fast and helpful with guests' cars. The level of luxury and customer service offered is simply second to none. Even the restaurant staff is welcoming, professional and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure clients are taken care of. However, some of the service staff were not up to par, but that does not take away from the amazing experience. It is worth noting that the hotel seems to be adhering to COVID-19 guidelines as well. All in all, Mokara is the perfect choice when looking for a hotel with the friendliest staff, top-notch service and luxury amenities.

Spa

If you're looking for the ultimate spa experience, the Mokara Hotel & Spa might just be the place for you. With its amazing spa services, you're in for a treat. Guests have raved about the spa amenities, the spa treatments and the gender-separated steam room, sauna and hot tub for hotel guests.
