Location
Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa is a hidden jewel located in a beautiful and picturesque setting. Although situated in a housing estate, guests have loved the central location and convenience of being within walking distance of a nearby town and only a 20-minute drive or train ride away from Cardiff. Limited parking spaces may be an issue, but the beautiful surroundings and lovely location make up for it. Some guests have mentioned that the location may not be suitable for everyone, but once inside the hotel, it's easy to forget it's situated in a housing estate. Despite being expensive, the hotel is worth every penny and for a Valleys girl, it's an experience of a lifetime!

Breakfast
Guests at Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa had a lot to say about the breakfast served at the hotel. Many described the breakfast as delicious, superb and outstanding with freshly cooked options and a delightful seating area. Some even went so far as to say that breakfast was an amazing experience. The breakfast menu included a variety of choices, such as French toast, fruit salad and eggs Benedict. Many guests raved about the beautifully presented food, while others were impressed with the quality and taste of the dishes. However, a few guests had negative experiences - some expressed disappointment over the limited menu, while others were charged for breakfast but didn't receive it. Additionally, some guests found the toast too thick and the sausages and bacon of low quality. Despite these issues, the majority of guests were very pleased with the breakfast and the staff who served it.

Dinner
The dinner options at Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa were a mixed bag according to guest reviews. Some found the food to be exceptional, stunning and beautiful with excellent service to match. However, others were disappointed with the limited evening menu, overpriced options and poor food quality. One guest was especially unhappy to find out upon arrival that the restaurant was closed for their entire two-night stay, despite the high prices of their accommodation. While some enjoyed the bar snacks, others found them lacking and the bar itself understaffed. It's worth noting that there aren't many nearby restaurants either, leaving some guests to resort to ordering from Just Eat or grabbing food from a nearby Tesco. Overall, the food experience at Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa appears to be hit or miss depending on individual tastes and expectations.

Rooms
Guests of Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa had a lovely and simple stay in the beautiful and meticulously decorated hotel with unique and different yet beautiful rooms. Although some guests had noisy bedrooms, a few rooms lacked some necessary amenities like mirrors or shelf in the shower and some rooms were too hot. Still, the majority of the guests were pleased with their modern, clean, spacious and airy rooms that had big, comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms with spacious baths. The clock tower deluxe room and the courtyard suite were the most loved by guests. Some guests mentioned that the room furniture felt second hand and a few faced dirty sheets that caused downgrades in their accommodation. However, the majority of the guests who stayed in very large room loved the size of the room and deemed them amazing, fantastic, luxurious and beautiful with great interiors and views. Despite some flaws in the rooms, everything was amazing and guests loved the unique mix of traditional and modern designs of the rooms of this absolutely beautiful hotel.

Beds
Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa boasts comfortable rooms with beds that are described as extremely comfortable by most guests. However, a few reviews mention hard mattresses and uncomfortable beds with one guest finding it difficult to have a good night's sleep. Some guests also commented on the pillows, which were either too hard or tired. One guest had an issue with the bed being two singles instead of a double, while another had trouble with the velux windows and a hard bed. Despite these minor issues, the majority of guests found the beds to be very comfortable and loved the interior of their rooms with one guest highlighting their room as having the most comfortable bed.

Cleanliness
If you're looking for a brilliant spa break away, Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa is definitely worth considering. This well-presented property boasts immaculate cleanliness throughout with many guests commenting on its spotless state. Whilst a bathroom here and there may require a little TLC, overall, the hotel is very clean and kept extremely well. Every area of the hotel is clean and welcoming, from the rooms, which are nice and spacious, to the spotless spa. Guests have praised the hotel's cleanliness with some saying that it is 'absolutely spacious and spotless'. Whilst some negative reviews mention finding hairs in beds and on towels, the general consensus is that the hotel is clean and tidy and most guests would highly recommend it to others.

Staff
Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa boasts some of the best staff seen in any hotel and guests are quick to sing their praises. From the moment you arrive, staff are attentive, friendly and helpful, making sure to make you feel relaxed and welcome. Many guests have noted the excellent customer service and marvellous staff, who couldn't do enough to keep them happy. Although some guests mention that the staff can be poor at times, these reviews are few and far between. Overall, the vast majority of guests agree that the staff are friendly, attentive and extremely helpful with exceptional staff providing excellent service throughout the hotel. Some standout mentions go to reception staff such as Amber, bartenders like Tumi and dinner waitresses who went above and beyond to make guests' experiences special. The only downside is that some guests feel that the front of house staff could use more training in customer experience and empathy. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa is the perfect choice.

Spa
Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa offers a brilliant spa break, perfect for couples looking for a nice and relaxing retreat. The spa facilities are beautifully designed and very relaxing, including a pool, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. While some guests found it expensive, others thought it was a fantastic value. The staff is exceptional and the spa treatments - although prioritized for day spa packages - were amazing, including both facial and massage treatments. The outdoor facilities are out of bounds for hotel guests, so it's essential to book a spa slot in advance. There were some disappointments, such as the small indoor swimming pool and some felt the spa aspect was not as impressive as anticipated. Overall, the spa area was beautiful and the entrance via the bar is a bit odd, but the white fluffy dressing gowns and gorgeous products make up for it. The spa stays open until 10 pm, which is incredible, but there were some restrictions on access to the pool and jacuzzi. However, booking a slot worked well and the spa area and pool were lovely. The health club exceeded expectations and the indoor pool and sauna were a treat to use. Although the spa is small, it's stunning and the hotel and spa facilities are absolutely beautiful, making Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa one of the best hotels and spas out there.

Pool
Guests had mixed opinions on the pool facilities at Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa. While some found the pool layout and design lovely, others described the indoor temperature as freezing and the environment as awkward. The hotel advertises two pools, but the indoor pool is shallow and the outdoor pool is only available to spa guests or at restricted hours. However, those who were able to use the pool found it marvellous with some describing it as the highlight of their stay. The pool area was generally beautiful, clean and relaxing, except for restricted or unsociable hours and limited availability slots, but the spa facilities were a treat for guests. Despite the issues, the outdoor pool made up for it for some and the pools and sauna facilities were stunning.

Outdoor Pool
Guest reviews of the Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa offer mixed opinions about the hotel's outdoor pool. Some guests expressed disappointment over not being allowed to use the pool after paying high fees per night or being restricted to certain hours of the day. Several guests also noted that the outdoor jacuzzi was off-limits or that spa treatments were overpriced. There were also complaints about noise from the outdoor pool area. However, other guests appreciated the Fab outdoor space for evening drinks and confirmed the pool made up for the shortcomings of the spa facilities. In summary, the Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa has an outdoor pool that can be a hit or miss for guests depending on availability and restrictions.
