Location
Ardencote is situated in a stunning rural location which is quite a way out of Solihull. Its beautiful surroundings, including lovely gardens and a golf course, make it a perfect setting for those who enjoy a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The location is also excellent for those visiting Warwick Castle and there are several opportunities for beautiful walks both locally and onsite. While the hotel seems mainly to attract golfers, the lovely scenery around the hotel is certainly worth a visit for anyone. The Manor House itself is beautiful and the hotel's great facilities make it an amazing stay. With easy access to Stratford, Ardencote is the ideal hotel for those who want a great location with beautiful grounds.

Breakfast
Guests had a mixed experience with the breakfast at Ardencote hotel. Some guests described the breakfast as great, lovely, excellent, wonderful and perfect. However, others found it disappointing, basic and samey with limited options and food that could have been hotter. Some guests were pleased with the White Company toiletries in the bathroom and the service, while others expressed confusion over the menu or vegan options. Some visitors expected a personally made breakfast rather than a buffet, while others praised the excellent meals and vegan options at dinner. The breakfast room had been moved to the restaurant down the hall and some guests found everything about the breakfast to be cheap and nasty, despite the luxury hotel's stunning facilities. Finally, some guests complained about the poor quality of the breakfast sausages and said that the breakfast was not family-friendly.

Dinner
Guests at Ardencote have mixed reviews when it comes to dining options. Some visitors rave about the deliciousness of both lunch and dinner with one even claiming that dinner was amazing. Others, however, were disappointed with the limited choices and poor quality of the evening meal. The all-day menu in the Bar/Restaurant also lacked variety. Some guests found booking dinner to be complicated and the restaurant was sometimes fully booked, leaving no available tables for those without reservations. One couple even had to eat their dinner on their laps. Although the evening meals received mixed reviews, lunch was universally criticized for its cheap and outdated menu. While some guests thought that dinner was fantastic, others believed that it was overpriced with one couple paying almost £70 for their meal. Overall, dining at Ardencote may be hit or miss, depending on the day and the meal.

Rooms
Travelers staying at Ardencote can expect a range of different experiences when it comes to the rooms. Some guests found that the beds were uncomfortable and that the rooms were on the small side, lacking in features like a fridge. Others, however, praised the spaciousness and comfort of their rooms, describing them as clean and well-equipped with all the features guests might expect. Unfortunately, some felt that the decor was dated or even poor with dirty or scrappy bathrooms and cheap furnishings. However, others had only positive things to say about the comfort and cleanliness of their rooms and appreciated the lovely country house setting. While many guests reported a good night's sleep in the quiet rooms, others found them to be cold or poorly lit with difficult-to-use showers. However, for those willing to overlook these minor quibbles, the rooms at Ardencote will likely meet their needs, whether they're looking for a basic stay or a more luxurious experience.

Cleanliness
Ardencote is a hotel with beautiful grounds and a tranquil location, perfect for visitors who want to relax and enjoy a spa day. The hotel rooms are generally clean and presentable with some guests describing them as being extremely clean. However, a few guests did encounter some issues with regards to cleanliness. Some reported black mould on shower screens and floor tiles, whilst others found dead insects on drum type lights or had stains on their duvet covers that were not changed throughout their stay. Some guests also mentioned the need for maintenance in certain areas of the hotel, like the swimming pool and facilities which they described as being filthy and run down. While some visitors received excellent housekeeping services, others had to ask for extra shampoo and towels with some mentioning that their room was not cleaned during their stay. Nonetheless, the hotel's overall serenity and beauty certainly make up for some of these cleanliness issues for many visitors who see it as a lovely getaway spot.

Staff
The Ardencote hotel boasts exceptional service thanks to its friendly and attentive staff who are always willing to go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. From the reception to the breakfast and restaurant staff, the team is welcoming and professional, making you feel right at home. Even with COVID protocols in place, the staff still manages to deliver excellent service. However, there were a few reports of unhelpful and rude staff that could benefit from some more hospitality training. The waiting staff, in particular, were sometimes described as surly and uninformed. Despite some negative reviews, most guests enjoyed interacting with the staff and found them to be accommodating and polite. Overall, the hotel, grounds and staff leave a positive impression on visitors.

Spa
Ardencote offers an enjoyable spa break with good leisure facilities including a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, as well as an amazing hot tub outside. The spa facilities were good, although some guests found them to be dated and needing updating. Some guests also had complaints about the spa service, from lack of reception staff to double bookings and unhelpful staff. Access to the spa comes at an extra cost and guests were disappointed to find that certain facilities, like pool towels or use of the outdoor pool, were not included. Overall, while the grounds and staff were lovely, some guests had issues with their spa experience at Ardencote.

Pool
Ardencote hotel guests had mixed feelings about the pools available. Some rated the outdoor jacuzzi and heated pool as 'wonderful' with 'beautiful scenery,' while others found them to be 'too cold' to enjoy. Despite some guests experiencing difficulty accessing the outside pool, those who did noted that the grounds and outside pool looked great. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were also praised by some as 'beautiful,' while others found the indoor pool water temperature to be too cold. Unfortunately, some guests reported dirty conditions in the leisure centre with a layer of dirt floating on top of the jacuzzi. Reviews also reported that the corridor door could bang continually from guests entering and exiting their rooms. All in all, while the pools were a mixed bag, many guests still enjoyed a lovely time in them.

Family
If you're looking for a short getaway with the family, Ardencote is a great choice with plenty of activities for the kids. The pool and ping pong were a hit with our family and the setting and rooms were lovely. However, we were disappointed to find out that the outdoor pool is only for adults. Our family room was comfortable, but we had to pay extra for a baby travel cot. During dinner, we had to improvise with seating and ended up at a high top table in the corner, which was worrying with our 5-year-old. We also had to brave bad weather to get to the pool with our children. Unfortunately, the breakfast was very poor and not family-friendly. Despite this, we had a lovely stay overall. Plus, our son got a great deal with a 3-course meal for only £13.95.

4 Star
Ardencote is a lovely hotel that provides a nice experience for guests. While some reviewers found everything to be good or very good, others had higher expectations for a four-star hotel. The breakfast menu was criticized as being more suited to a Little Chef or diner and some found the overall menu to be poor. One reviewer even stated that the hotel was more like a 2-star than a 4-star. However, the hotel's facilities were generally regarded as nice and the service was deemed satisfactory though not always meeting the high expectations associated with a 4-star establishment. Overall, while the hotel may not always live up to a 4-star rating, it remains a pleasant destination with much to offer.

Indoor Pool
Ardencote certainly has some great facilities on offer with their indoor pool and jacuzzi rated highly by guests. Most visitors could not fault the experience with the pool itself receiving high praise. Unfortunately, a few reviewers noted that the pool water was quite cold and not properly heated. Additionally, some guests found it difficult to navigate the complex with minimal signposts to guide the way. Despite some small issues with the cleanliness and function of the indoor jacuzzi, most visitors had a positive experience overall with the impressive indoor pool.
