While some appreciated having a full English breakfast, others felt the cooked breakfast could have been hotter and better in quality. Some guests complimented the helpful and attentive breakfast staff, while others felt the service was disorganized and slow to replenish food. A few guests with specific dietary requirements found the breakfast options lacking and some experienced issues with the temperature and quality of the food. Dinner
The dinner at Milton Hill House received mixed reviews from guests. Some found the evening meals to be good with quick service while others described it as a disaster. There were complaints of food being out of stock, limited menu choices and issues with drinks. Some guests reported getting food poisoning after eating chicken korma in the restaurant. The food quality at the restaurant was inconsistent with some guests describing it as fabulous, while others found it rubbish and not worth the extra money. One guest suggested eating at nearby restaurants which are only a 5-7 minute drive away. Overall, the restaurant menu had limited options and drinks were on the expensive side. Despite the mixed reviews, some members of a party who had an evening meal in the restaurant were happy with their experience.

Rooms
Milton Hill House boasts a variety of rooms that were described as modern, spacious and clean, although some guests reported tired decor, outdated facilities and maintenance issues. Some guests were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite on arrival, while others felt that the outside of the separate bedroom buildings did not reflect the grandeur of the main house. Despite some drawbacks, many guests were satisfied with their room and appreciated the clean and comfortable space with some even calling it lovely or beautiful. However, others were disappointed with the basic amenities, uncomfortable beds or thin walls, leading to noise disturbances and lack of sleep. Overall, the rooms at Milton Hill House varied in quality, but those who were satisfied felt that they were suitable for their stay in this traditional setting with beautiful grounds and helpful staff.

Beds
Milton Hill House offers modern and clean rooms with comfortable beds, which most guests found peaceful and comfy. The bedding is fresh and beautifully laundered, ensuring a good night's sleep. While some guests found the pillows too firm, the majority found the bed to be super comfy and very comfortable. However, a few guests noted stains on the mattress and one guest found the bed to be rock hard. Additionally, some guests mentioned that more water in the room would have been nice as it can get warm in the night. Overall, guests enjoyed their stay at Milton Hill House due to the comfortable beds with some minor complaints about the firmness or cleanliness.

Cleanliness
Reviews about the cleanliness of Milton Hill House are mixed with guests praising some areas of the hotel while being disappointed in others. Some guests were pleased with how modern, spacious and immaculate the rooms and bathrooms were, as well as the clean pool and pleasant grounds. However, others noted that the building and corridors looked old and in need of updating and cleaning with issues such as dusty patios, broken window locks and loose grout in the bathroom. Several guests also mentioned finding cobwebs, black mould and dirty crockery in their rooms and some found overall cleanliness lacking in the hotel's public spaces and spa. Despite these criticisms, however, some guests still found their rooms to be satisfactory, clean and comfortable, while also enjoying the good breakfast and friendly staff.

Staff
Guests at Milton Hill House agree that the staff are a major highlight of their stay. Reviews praise the friendly and accommodating team with many highlighting their helpfulness and understanding. Guests were happy with the staff in both the restaurant and reception areas with all staff being described as lovely, polite and willing to help. The bar staff were a particular highlight for many guests with some even describing them as brilliant and deserving of medals for their service. There were a few negative comments about staff, but these were in the minority. Overall, guests appreciated the well-trained and welcoming staff, who made their stay a memorable one.

Pool
Milton Hill House's pool is a highlight of many guests' stays with its lovely facilities including a sauna and steam room. While some have noted that the atmosphere could use a bit of a boost, many find the pool area to be great and an ideal spot to relax. Some have mentioned that the swimming pool is on the smaller side, but the jacuzzi has received high praise. Unfortunately, there have been reports of the sauna being out of order. Lockers in the swimming pool have also been noted as not working, but many guests have still thoroughly enjoyed the pool, remarking on its temperature and cleanliness. Overall, the pool at Milton Hill House is a great place to unwind and take full advantage of the lovely spa facilities.

Parking
Guests staying at Milton Hill House have had a mixed experience with the parking situation. While some have found it easy to find a spot and appreciated the amount of available spaces, others have been forced to park around the back of the hotel or have found that there is hardly any parking available. However, despite this, many guests have commented on the convenience of having free parking available. A few guests have also mentioned that there were plans to improve the disabled parking spaces with repainting. Overall, the parking at Milton Hill House seems to be hit or miss, but for those who are able to park, it is a great added bonus to have everything needed and good Wi-Fi within easy reach. Additionally, the lighting in the parking lot has been a highlight for some guests who felt safe coming and going from the hotel in the evening.

Family
Milton Hill House is a lovely hotel with a friendly atmosphere that we thoroughly enjoyed during our stay. Eating out with a toddler can sometimes be challenging, but the hotel staff took care of our little crew. However, there were some difficulties on our second day due to a large conference group. Despite this, it was a wonderful weekend for a senior couple like us. The hotel is dog-friendly, which was great as we brought our toy poodle who had her own box and bed. The bar provided a comfortable and relaxed place for catching up with family. We attended a wedding at the hotel and everything was very well organised. It seems that the hotel is more geared towards the corporate rather than individuals, but it was a perfect location for our cousin's wedding. The hotel staff were excellent, especially the lady at breakfast who was great with my 3-year-old. Overall, we had a great time at Milton Hill House.

4 Star
Milton Hill House is a beautifully situated Manor house with a lovely setting that offers reasonably priced accommodations. Although some guests were not satisfied with the general condition of the property, others found the location wonderful and the room spacious and well-heated. The staff were universally praised for their helpfulness and friendliness and breakfast was said to be nice. Some guests mentioned refurbishment work taking place, but overall there were no complaints about the facilities. While some felt that the hotel did not meet the standards of a four-star rating, most had a very pleasant stay and would book again if in the area.

Accessible
Milton Hill House offers accessible rooms for guests with disabilities, but there were some mixed reviews. Some rooms were located in a separate block from the main hotel, which could be inconvenient in inclement weather, although there was a roofed walkway between the two. A few guests found the bathroom size to be barely accessible. There were also comments about misleading pictures and some guests had to pay more to stay in the main building as disabled. However, the hotel does have disabled parking spots that are painted for easy identification. In terms of location, it was not mentioned in the reviews. One guest initially received a small ordinary room despite asking for an accessible room, but they were eventually allocated an adequate accessible room in the main house with a lift to the first floor. Nonetheless, the room was situated far away from the dining area, making it difficult to access. Some guests also found the building a bit of a maze and heavy fire doors posed a challenge to some. Overall, more consideration should be given to offering satisfactory accessible rooms for guests.
