Location
Located in the heart of Cork, Rochestown Park Hotel is a conveniently located accommodation option for both business and leisure travelers. The location is ideal for those who have their own transportation as it is just a short drive to the city center and near the motorway. Public transportation is also easily accessible with a bus stop just a stone's throw away. The hotel is situated near Douglas center, which offers a variety of shopping options and local amenities. While some guests mention that the hotel is a bit far away from downtown, it is still a good location for those who need to be close to the university, visiting family or for those who want to explore the city. Although everything around the hotel could use updating, the location remains a major plus for many visitors.

Breakfast
Guest reviews of the Rochestown Park Hotel breakfast offer mixed opinions. Some guests loved the breakfast with excellent variety, hot and fresh food, generous portions and friendly service. Others were disappointed with the limited breakfast menu with no buffet or self-service options, slow service and high prices. Some guests reported burnt toast or inedible porridge, while others enjoyed gorgeous breakfasts with great food. A few reviewers mentioned specific dietary requirements not being catered for. Overall, the breakfast experience seemed to be hit or miss with some guests feeling underwhelmed, while others praised the food and service. There were also incidents of rude staff and waiting times. Guests hoping for more choices and flexibility in their breakfast options may need to explore other options outside the hotel.

Dinner
The Rochestown Park Hotel offers a reasonable dinner experience with some ups and downs. While some guests found the food choices excellent and the staff friendly, others found the main courses to be not up to par for their price. The service, on the other hand, was commendable with some guests praising their thoughtful and kind waitress. However, some guests did have to wait a long time to be served, especially during busier periods. The restaurant facilities received mixed reviews with some finding them poorly signposted, while others enjoyed the curry and excellent food at Suttons. Dinner at the hotel was described as "ok" but was considered to be expensive by some. The bar food was highly praised with some guests returning to eat there more than once, although service could be slow and upselling was not prominent. Overall, guests seemed to have varying experiences with the dinner options at Rochestown Park Hotel.

Rooms
Guests have varied opinions on the rooms at Rochestown Park Hotel. Some describe the rooms as comfortable, spacious, cosy and nice with big, comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Others, however, find the rooms old-fashioned, dated and tired-looking with grubby carpets, peeling paint and tired appearance. Some guests have experienced issues with broken fittings, including light fittings and door handles. Several guests have also reported issues with cleanliness, including mould in the bathroom, half-eaten chocolates left in the room and stained carpets. Some guests have also experienced issues with facilities, including old kettles and air conditioning, while others have found the lack of channels on the TV disappointing. However, some guests have enjoyed the underfloor heating in the bathrooms and the availability of bottled water and tea and coffee in the rooms. The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms with good facilities, although some may require an upgrade.

Beds
The guests of Rochestown Park Hotel had mixed opinions about the bed quality. Some found the beds to be very comfortable, while others had negative experiences, saying the beds were uncomfortable, filthy and made of cheap foam. Despite this, many praised the spacious and clean rooms and some noted that the double bed consisted of two singles pushed together, which some found less than ideal for a good night's sleep. On the whole, those who enjoyed the beds also appreciated the comfortable and luxurious atmosphere of the hotel, including the nice pool and beautiful lobby.

Cleanliness
Guests of Rochestown Park Hotel have opinions that are definitively mixed in terms of cleanliness standards throughout the hotel. Some have had no issues with the cleanliness of their rooms, describing them as spacious, spotless and comfortable. Others have found the room's bathroom/shower, carpets or corridor areas to be in need of better cleaning. Carpets on the stairs weren't in the best shape in one guest's opinion and others were displeased with the general 'wear and tear' of the facility.

While some guests had issues with specific aspects of the cleanliness, they did comment on the friendliness of the staff and the comfort level of their rooms. The pool and changing rooms were noted to be very nice and clean in a few separate reviews. In general, guests recommend the hotel even if there is some updating to be done, but would recommend paying more attention to the cleanliness of the facilities.

Staff
The staff at Rochestown Park Hotel are a mixed bag according to guest reviews. On the one hand, many praise the staff for being fantastic, friendly, efficient, professional and welcoming. Guests appreciate the warm welcome they receive upon arrival, the helpfulness of staff at reception and in the bar and the courteous service from waiters in the restaurant. Some even received complimentary upgrades and generous attention from staff members. Many guests also found the hotel's leisure centre staff lovely and helpful.

On the other hand, some guests found certain staff members rude, unprofessional and disinterested. Complaints arose about a rude waitress, unfriendly breakfast staff, unhelpful receptionists and a rude restaurant manager. There were also reports of staff at the pool, conference centre and bar being unhelpful or rude. However, many guests still found the majority of the staff lovely, friendly and efficient.

Despite some negative interactions, guests generally appreciated the staff's efforts and noted that the hotel's facilities were comfortable and clean. Guests recommend this hotel for its easy location near the airport, lovely interior and helpful staff, albeit with some caveats.

Pool
The Rochestown Park Hotel boasts a fabulous swimming pool that both kids and adults will love. The water is warm and inviting and the pool area is very nice. The pool is well-maintained and very clean with a jacuzzi beside the kiddies pool for added relaxation. However, some guests have mentioned that the swimming pool and changing room were not up to par with the rest of the hotel's amenities. There are strict pool times for kids, which some families might find inconvenient. The pool facilities are a bit dated, but still good overall. Wheelchair users might find access to the pool area a bit of a trek. Despite its flaws, guests still enjoyed a swim before they left and loved that the water was warm and relaxing.

Family
The Rochestown Park Hotel is a fantastic choice for families looking for a enjoyable stay with their children. The spacious family rooms exceeded our expectations and even included a mini fridge which was a huge plus for families with little ones. Although there were no tables available until 9pm, the lobby area provided a great space for babies to crawl about. Kids would love to spend time in a movie or games room, but they were kept entertained nonetheless with the warm and family-friendly leisure pool. We did experience a slight hiccup with the staff not getting our baby's bowl right, but it was quickly remedied. The breakfast menu was limited, but we realized too late that pancakes were available for the children. Overall, it was a great value and highly recommended for families- we even brought along 13 family members with us on this great family night away!

4 Star
The Rochestown Park Hotel offers excellent value for money and is a pleasant place to stay with large rooms and excellent facilities. While the staff are friendly and helpful, some guests were disappointed with the dated state of the hotel's interior and facilities. The breakfast was not up to 4-star quality and some guests found the rooms lacking with broken toilet roll holders, worn carpets and broken door handles. Some guests also found the room unclean with mould in the shower and half-eaten chocolates left on the floor. However, many guests still saw this hotel as a definite 4-star option, despite its flaws.

Business
Located in Cork, Rochestown Park Hotel caters to business travelers with a courteous and professional atmosphere, but lacks in social areas/bars/restaurants with no bar food available. While the bar staff is pleasant and the restaurant serves very nice food, service in the restaurant might not meet expectations. The hotel is in need of updating, including peeling paint, worn carpet, broken toilet roll holders and door handles and a non-working safe. Additionally, the air conditioning is noisy and the rooms are not always cleaned to the highest standards. On the positive side, Rochestown Park Hotel offers parking. However, some guests have reported significant noise in the hallways and to go to the bar to settle their bills.

Accessible
The Rochestown Park Hotel is conveniently located close to the airport and just 10 minutes away from the city center. While some guests found it difficult to find the hotel, the rooms were equipped with air conditioning which made for a comfortable stay. The hotel has a nice pool, though some guests pointed out that it was a long trek for wheelchair users. Unfortunately, some guests with buggies had to navigate steps due to broken lifts. Despite these accessibility issues, the hotel's location and amenities were generally well-received, though some guests did have issues with rudeness from security staff and being unable to make local calls.
