Former Castle Hotel
John D’Arcy of Clifden Castle built Abbeyglen Castle in 1832, nestled in the romantic setting of the Twelve Bens overlooking Clifden Bay. It was later used as a Protestant orphanage for the Irish Church Mission Society in 1854. Apart from being surrounded by stunning landscapes and evoking an atmosphere of chivalry and romance by an era long gone, this castle hotel offers award-winning cuisines as well a wellness centre where all guests can relax and rejuvenate.
