Location
Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa offers a convenient haven, perfectly located for exploring Chesterfield and the Peak District. The hotel grounds, complete with beautiful gardens, are well worth a walk around. Guests can easily access the hotel with ample secure parking available. For those visiting Wentworth Woodhouse, the location couldn't be better. However, some of the rooms may be situated right by the main road, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep due to the traffic noise. Guests also noted that there were lots of steps inside to negotiate and breakfast involved a long walk along internal corridors, which might not be suitable for everyone. Nevertheless, there are many positive comments about the hotel's peaceful location and surroundings with added bonuses including a lovely spa and delicious food.

Breakfast
Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa offers guests a great breakfast experience with a good selection of hot and cold dishes such as bacon, sausages, eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh breads, cakes, pastries, yogurts, fresh fruits, juices, jams and sauces. Some guests also enjoyed the evening meal at the restaurant. However, a few had a bad experience where they found the breakfast borderline inedible or dreadful. Some expressed disappointment that there were no fruits or pastries and no choice of eggs. Nevertheless, the breakfast was varied, well-stocked, fresh and plentiful and the staff were attentive and kind. The breakfast, along with the excellent accommodation and lovely staff, was an uplifting start to the day and some found it amazing or fantastic. However, some guests found the breakfast only average, bland and not hot enough and some complained about the bathroom needing TLC or being charged extra for 'proper' coffee. Overall, the breakfast was satisfactory and good value for the Bed & Breakfast option, but not quite up to the 4-star restaurant standard that some expected.

Dinner
Guests had mixed reviews about the restaurant at Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa. While some guests enjoyed the lovely and delicious food presented beautifully on the plate, others complained about the limited and inconsistent menu. Some guests felt that the food was overpriced with supplements added to some dishes. Service in the restaurant was slow and erratic, often requiring reminders to the staff and more staff were needed to improve the experience. Though vegans were promised options in advance, there was little or no effort to fulfill their request on arrival. Additionally, the hotel seems more geared towards large parties and events and the same items were sometimes repeated on the menu. Despite these complaints, some guests found the food to be good value for money with excellent options for vegetarians and an exceptional evening meal experience.

Rooms
Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa offers a range of room options, from large and comfortable rooms with lovely views overlooking the gardens, to suites with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The rooms are equipped with all the basic amenities like tea and coffee facilities, flat-screen TVs and white fluffy towels. Some guests have complained about the cleanliness of the rooms with cobwebs and stains on carpets, while others have mentioned the rooms being a bit dated and in need of refurbishment. The bathrooms have been a particular issue for some with a lack of shower facilities in some rooms and moldy, unclean bathrooms. However, most guests have reported comfortable and clean rooms with some guests praising the amazing mattresses and spaciousness of the rooms. The hotel also offers good location and ambiance, but noise from wedding parties in the garden during the evening and weak TV reception have been mentioned as drawbacks. Overall, the hotel provides a pleasant stay with comfortable rooms and beautiful surroundings, but some rooms may need upgrades and more attention to cleanliness.

Beds
Travelers who value a good night's sleep will be pleased with the bed options at Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa. Guests have praised the hotel's comfortable mattresses with some describing them as amazing. While a few visitors found the beds to be a little tired or too soft, the majority raved about the comfortable bedding. Many guests were delighted with the size of the beds, including the super king size options. However, some reviewers noted that the walls were too thin and a few guests said they found the beds to be uncomfortable with one even describing it as the most uncomfortable bed in the world. Nevertheless, those who prioritize comfort will likely enjoy getting some shut-eye at Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa.

Cleanliness
Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa offers a comfortable, clean and friendly stopover with generally okay cleanliness. However, some areas like the dining room ceiling, carpets and towels were found to be dirty with stains and makeup marks. The rooms were mostly clean and spacious, but some guests noted that they were unclean, dusty or had cobwebs. The bathroom and toilet also need some attention as there were mildew patches, broken tiles and loose toilet seats. On a positive note, the gardens were lovely to stroll around and had quiet places for contemplation. Despite some cleaning issues, the hotel still provides exceptional value for money with comfortable and tidy rooms and a good breakfast.

Staff
Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa boasts a team of lovely, friendly and helpful staff who are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that guests have a comfortable stay. Some guests have described the staff as exceptional, superb and wonderful and praised them for being accommodating, welcoming and polite. However, there have been a few negative reviews where guests felt that some staff lacked professionalism, training or were not very helpful. Nonetheless, guests have appreciated Reception staff for being charming and efficient, while the concierge was described as very helpful. The restaurant staff received mixed feedback with some guests highlighting the slow and erratic service while others praised the attentive restaurant service. Overall, the staff at Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa are friendly, working hard no matter the circumstances and always willing to help guests with all their needs.

Wi-Fi
When it comes to the wifi at Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa, reviewers have mixed opinions. Some guests have reported that the wifi didn't work at all or was slow and sporadic. They described the Wi-Fi as dreadful, poor or non-existent. On the other hand, others have had positive experiences with good reception and perfect wifi. However, there were some complaints that the TV was not on wifi. Overall, while some guests have had issues with the wifi services, others have had a seamless experience.

Spa
The spa at Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa is highly recommended by guests with many praising the fantastic facilities available. However, some were disappointed that the spa was not included in the price of their hotel stay and found the cost to be quite steep. Others found that the spa could get quite crowded and that amenities such as the pool were not available as part of their booking. Despite this, many guests enjoyed treatments at the spa and found the atmosphere to be relaxing and enjoyable. The gardens surrounding the spa were also said to be lovely, providing a peaceful place to walk and reflect. Some guests did note that the changing rooms for women were below standard and that one sauna was out of order during their visit. Overall, while the spa at Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa received mixed reviews, many guests found it to be a fabulous and well-presented wellness destination.

Parking
Guests of Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa generally found the parking situation to be adequate with plenty of space available. However, some did note that parking near their room required navigating tight, dimly lit streets. On a positive note, the hotel offers an extensive amount of secure parking and even has an EV charging station available. While the location and parking were generally viewed positively, some guests did not appreciate having to pay an additional £60 to use the spa facilities in addition to the room rate. Overall, guests found the friendly staff and good location to outweigh any minor issues with the parking situation.

4 Star
Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa offers a historic ambiance with its atmospheric and architecturally beautiful building. Guests will be welcomed by friendly staff available 24/7 at the reception. The large rooms provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere perfect for restful nights. The hotel is conveniently located near bus stops and eating venues, making it easy for guests to explore the area. The varied breakfast menu is a great way to start the day but some guests noted that it falls short of 4-star restaurant standard. The hotel offers good WiFi reception for those needing to stay connected. While some guests felt that the hotel charges 4-star prices, it all just felt a little dated and not quite 5-star. Nonetheless, we recommend exploring Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa for a comfortable stay.

Dog Friendly
Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa is a hotel that allows dogs, but some guests expressed that it is not very dog friendly. However, there are dog friendly rooms available for booking which is a positive aspect. The hotel's allowance of dogs is appreciated by dog owners as noted in some reviews. Unfortunately, some guests had negative experiences with noise levels from barking dogs in other rooms which affected their own dogs' sleep. Some guests also noted a lack of cleanliness in some rooms, speculating that a dog may have been brought into the room in question. Despite some drawbacks, there were individual reviews where nothing negative was found regarding the hotel's dog-friendly facilities, services, amenities and rules, indicating that the hotel may be a suitable place to stay with a dog as long as certain preferences and precautions are taken into consideration.
