Location

Guests have consistently praised the hotel's excellent location, which is extremely convenient for exploring the city's top attractions. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to many great restaurants and entertainment options. The hotel's location is perfect for those who want to experience the history of the neighbourhood and there are plenty of great restaurants only steps away. Many guests appreciated the good size and cleanliness of the rooms and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is also great for shopping and dining and everything you need is within walking distance. Overall, The Great George is perfectly located for a night out on the town or for exploring the downtown core on foot.

Breakfast

The Great George hotel offers a good selection of breakfast options, which comes as a pleasant surprise to some guests. Although it is noted as the weakest part of the stay and could be improved with more coffee, donuts and cereal. However, breakfasts are always excellent and the managers are helpful in the breakfast area. The complimentary full breakfast is very good, but a little more choice and variety in warm dishes would have been welcome. Additionally, cookies are baked each afternoon and happy hour is enjoyed in the lounge, which has a lovely inclusive feel. The staff are super nice and friendly and they even accommodated guests who needed early breakfast options. Some guests particularly enjoyed the location of the hotel in the heart of town, the quiet rooms and the awesome breakfasts. Due to the restrictions of Covid, some guests found the pre-packaged breakfast to go to be not as great and the breakfast area to be full and hard to find a seat. Otherwise, breakfast options were still considered good and the cookies were a hit. Overall, while the breakfasts could use some improvement, this hotel offers a nice continental breakfast and pleasant dining experience.

The rooms are spacious, clean and well-appointed with top-rate amenities. The presence of jacuzzi tubs, king size beds and comfortable furniture makes the rooms very welcoming. Some rooms even have Victorian charm. The location of the hotel is great and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. One guest even celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with wine, chocolates and a fresh rose waiting for them in their room. Although some guests found the rooms too small, they were still cozy and well-setup with nice decor and all necessary amenities. The hotel is well-priced and offers good value for money. Overall, guests found the rooms super clean, beautifully appointed and very comfortable.
