Location
The Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa is a great choice for those looking for a location outside the hustle and bustle of the centre of Blackpool, but still with easy access to attractions. The tram stop is right outside the hotel, making it convenient to get to the tower and pleasure beach. The hotel is also a good base for events and festivals held there. Guests loved the friendly service, ample parking and the fact that the hotel is located away from the noisy centre of Blackpool. However, some found the location too far out for their liking and noted that there were other hotels closer to attractions for the same price. Overall, the location was great for those who want a more peaceful stay with easy access to public transport.

Breakfast
Guest reviews of the Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa's breakfast were mixed with some guests praising the lovely and tasty food, while others found it revolting and overpriced. The breakfast had vegetarian options such as scrambled tofu and included hash browns, beans, tomato and sausage. Some guests found the selection of hot foods poor, while others enjoyed the variety and good quality. Queues for breakfast were reported, but some guests found plenty of choice and good variety of drinks. Some guests were disappointed with the lack of vegan options and a continental selection that was practically non-existent. Despite the mixed reviews, many guests found the breakfast to be fine or good, but some found it not worth the expense.

Rooms
The Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa is a large hotel that can be difficult to navigate due to its rabbit warren layout. The cleanliness of the rooms leaves much to be desired with reports of dusty skirting, dirty bedsheets and mud on the bathroom windows. There were also complaints about no daily housekeeping, uncomfortable beds and no phone in the rooms. Some rooms had no heating or hot water and others had issues with noise from neighboring guests. The hotel is dated with outdated furniture and decor and some rooms had a damp smell or even mold on the bathroom ceiling. However, some guests did report clean and comfortable rooms and the bathroom facilities were adequate. If you're looking for no-frills accommodations and don't plan on spending much time in your room, the Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa may be a good value option.

Beds
The Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa has received mixed reviews regarding the beds provided in its rooms. Some guests found them to be too hard or uncomfortable with some even describing them as sleeping on a paving slab. Additionally, the bed sheets and pillows were not up to par with some guests finding hair, crumbs and even blood stains on them. However, there were guests who found the beds at the hotel comfortable and slept well. The bunk beds in some rooms were also described as unsteady. Overall, guests have complained about the basic and uncomfortable accommodation at the hotel, but have praised the powerful shower and some comfortable beds.

Cleanliness
Reviewers had mixed opinions about the cleanliness of Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa. While some guests found the hotel very clean, others reported piles of bedding left in corridors for days, cobwebs, dusty windows and dirty bathrooms. Some guests found stains on linen and pillows, body wash all over the bath and dirty handprints on walls. There were also reports of outdated furnishings and broken equipment. Some parts of the hotel had a smell of damp, smoke or cannabis. However, others mentioned that the bedrooms were clean and comfortable and that the bathrooms were spotless. Public areas were not always cleaned properly and the hotel was generally considered old and worn out. Guests also reported issues with hygiene and a lack of service, including no beds made up daily, absent towels and no refreshments provided in bedrooms. Overall, some guests were happy with the cleanliness standards, while others found the hotel to be unacceptable.

Staff
Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa has a mix of helpful and friendly staff with some exceptions of bad attitudes and unhelpful behavior. The reception staff can be hit or miss with some being lovely and others being rude and slow. The bar staff also have mixed reviews with some being friendly and others being rude. However, there are some standout staff members such as Kiran and bar manager Paul, who guests found friendly and helpful. Additionally, Georgina and Tracy received praise for their exceptional customer service. Overall, the hotel is clean and the existing staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. While there were some issues with wait times and room key access, a majority of guests found the staff welcoming and kind.

Pool
The Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa boasts a pool and gym facility, although unfortunately during some guests' stays, they found that the gym and pool were not functioning properly. On the plus side, many guests enjoyed their time in the pool, although some did note that the pool timings were inaccurate. The hotel was noted to be generally cold and some guests reported issues with heating in the pool. Nevertheless, many praised the swimming facilities and the pool bar, appreciating the availability of a jacuzzi. While some guests had to pay for swimming, most found that the fee of £2 per day was reasonable for the use of such a nice pool and spa facility.

Parking
Despite being a popular destination for visitors, Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa unfortunately charges its guests for parking, leaving many feeling disappointed. Some found the cost to be high and others felt that the pricing setup was confusing. However, there were some happy comments regarding the actual parking facilities at the hotel with guests noting that the car park was spacious and offering good value for money. Unfortunately, some visitors also reported issues with the car park becoming waterlogged after heavy rain. For those not wanting to park on site, it was noted that the hotel is located near public transport options.

Family
The Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa may not be the ideal place for those looking for a peaceful getaway, especially if you're not travelling with children. Parents and their wild ones fill the lobby, creating a loud and crowded atmosphere. Though some rooms were spacious and enjoyable, others were uncomfortable and unsteady with bunk beds slotted in for the kids. The hotel tries to offer family-friendly activities, such as a games room, but many of the machines were broken. Furthermore, the hotel seemed unprepared for the number of children running around with some guests being moved due to their proximity to noisy children. While some guests appreciated the abundance of things for kiddies to do, others found it too chaotic for their taste. Overall, the Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa may be best suited for families travelling with children.

Accessible
Norbreck Castle Hotel & Spa has received mixed reviews from disabled guests. Some reviewers found the accessibility aids very helpful during their stay, however others had poor experiences. For guests with walking difficulties or who use a wheelchair, the hotel seems to have some accessibility issues. The wet room was deemed dangerous due to flooding and the slope and tarmac surfaces outside were uneven and caused damage to one guest's wheelchair. Sadly, the lift was out of order during some guests' stays, hinting towards a lack of maintenance. Additionally, disabled guests were reportedly charged extra for their stay. Reviewers also mention struggling to open room doors or finding that their room's bathroom wasn't suitable, making it difficult for those with restricted mobility or wheelchair users.
