Wychnor Park Country Club is an ideal location for those seeking a peaceful and quiet retreat surrounded by stunning scenery. Although the location is a bit isolated, it offers easy access to many local attractions, including Shugborough Hall, Calke Abbey and Alton Towers, making it a great choice for families and business travellers alike. Guests can take leisurely walks or explore the nearby parks, arboretums and canals, but the roads leading to the hotel can be treacherous and poorly signposted. However, the grounds are immaculate and the log cabins have stunning open views over the flood plain. While there are no dining options onsite, the hotel is located within a short driving distance to shops, restaurants and bars. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities include a lovely swimming pool. Despite some guests finding the location difficult to locate, it's a perfect location for guests who want to enjoy total peace and quiet in a beautiful setting.

Dinner

While Wychnor Park Country Club boasts beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations, guests were disappointed to find that the restaurant and bar were not currently open. Instead, frozen meals, snacks and limited alcohol options could be purchased at reception or visitors could venture out to one of the nearby pubs or restaurants within a 15-minute drive. Many guests felt that the lack of on-site dining options detracted from their overall experience and some expressed frustration with having to leave the property for meals. While some visitors appreciated that the hotel had attempted to provide takeout options and recommendations for nearby restaurants, others were left unhappy with the inconvenience. We hope that the restaurant and bar will be reinstated soon for future guests to enjoy.

You will have a blissful sleep on extremely comfy beds with duvets that will keep you warm throughout the night. The beds are clean and comfortable and even though some reviewers found them a little too firm for their liking, they still enjoyed a good night's sleep. However, be aware that the single beds are very thin and not suitable for adults. The hotel doesn't provide extra blankets, so if you get cold easily, make sure to bring an extra layer. Nonetheless, the beds are excellent and massive and you'll wake up feeling refreshed and ready for another day of exploring.

Cleanliness

Wychnor Park Country Club is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay for a break. The rooms, apartments and cabins are very clean and spacious, making them comfortable and enjoyable. The staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring a top-notch experience. Towels are changed promptly and cleaning materials are supplied. Although there were some instances of floors not being perfectly clean on arrival, overall the cleanliness is exceptional with stylish and exceptionally clean apartments. The site is well kept with immaculate grounds. The only downside was some issues with damp in the apartments and a broken boiler in the swimming pool. However, we highly recommend this lovely place, which is old but actually clean, well-equipped and spacious, making it a perfect place for a break from the city.

From the receptionist to the maintenance staff, every member of their team is friendly and helpful. They will welcome you with a smile and make sure all your needs are met. The staff are knowledgeable and always ready to offer prompt responses with the SMS service. While there were some comments on the responsiveness of the staff, overall, the reviews consistently acknowledge the staff's top-notch customer service. The staff at the reception were particularly accommodating, acknowledging customer complaints and even going out of their way to offer extra help. Special mentions were given to Yasmin and Tara for their exceptional service. The induction was informative and the staff provided clear instructions on how to get to the right location. Overall, the staff at Wychnor Park Country Club are obliging and will do everything in their power to ensure that you have a memorable experience.
