The hotel is set in open countryside, which provides scenic and rural views, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing break or a stopover halfway between destinations like Edinburgh. Guests love the lovely, picturesque and beautiful surroundings of the hotel. The location is excellent for walking and visiting the nearby town of Barnard Castle. Many guests appreciate the convenience and ease of finding the hotel, as it is well signposted and easily accessed off the A66. Although some guests felt the traffic noise from the A66, the property stands in secluded country locations, away from the main road, which is a welcome relief for many. The hotel is perfect for those visiting family in Barnard Castle as well.
